Short Bio

*Spends the entire story as a ghost. Before the story starts, she was an unrated telepath until her sister-in-law told authorities. After she was carried away, she was mistreated, and murdered when she failed to perform.

Long Bio

Hattie`s mother died when Hattie was a child, we meet her only as a ghost and hear about her from Hattie and her family`s thoughts. She was a telepath (a biopath), murdered by the Telepaths Guild after she failed to perform. Kwan later learns that she was sold to the Guild by her own family after prying in on their thoughts at the funeral of Hattie`s father. She still watches over Hattie years later, Kwan sees her for the second time during Hattie`s vigil for her father where they have some sort of confrontation. Hattie`s mother seems appeased when Kwan promises to stay with Hattie to look after her and leaves the mortal plane with her husband`s ghost.
